I’ve spent this week in Tokyo, guest of Nomura Research Institute, who were sponsoring the Japanese government’s ‘Well Aging Society Summit’ (WASS). Our flight arrived Sunday, just after the typhoon, and we were lucky to only have a 3hr flight delay – other colleagues were delayed for 20+ hours, or had flights cancelled entirely.
I shared the perspectives of Aging2.0 and Fordcastle at a lunchtime session today, asking what the future of age-tech is. My answer in a phrase, global collective intelligence.
The presentation is below and highlights a number of global startups as evidence of a global shift, the evolution of Aging2.0 from local meetups to 100+ active Chapters (that milestone reached as of last week) and now our next challenge: connecting the dots to build a new platform for collective intelligence and collaborative action, The Collective.
We’re building out our missions (Grand Challenges), mapping the organisations, identifying best practices (Impact Stories) and supporting matchmaking to grow the ecosystem.
There was quite a lot of interest, based on the conversations afterwards, both from cities wanting to start Chapters and from some corporates looking for ways to navigate and shape the emerging longevity ecosystem.
Great to hear
